MyHeritage renewed my membership for $408. I did not authorize a transaction for that amount.
I expected the auto renewal amount to be around $100. I called the MyHeritage telephone number for Canada. You cannot speak with a rep so I left my account info and requested an urgent refund on the recording.
The message indicates that I will be contacted within 5 to 7 business days!!!
This not acceptable as I did not authorize this transaction!! I am PISSED!!
- Accessing the site is ok
- Can not get immediate assistance for issues
- Not worth the hassles of dealing with this company
- Can not talk to live person or a agent on chat

- - Sync won't occur until people are removed from my account.
- - Account 101319**** is Premium Plus and expires Mar 7 2029; it blocks adding more.
The program will not let me sync without deleting people from my account.
The system thinks I have a free account and cannot add more to my account.
My account number is 101319**** and I have Premium Plus and it expires in Mar 7 2029. I have tried all the knowledge base and nothing will reset the system and I cannot contact customer service on this problem.
I hear this is a problem you are having with the system. Please can you reset the system so that I can sync. I'm trying not to add more people to the account. I know that I errored by not making my four sons there own account but still have control over them.
I'm the one doing the research and paying for it all.

- - Charged Mastercard for another year's renewal.
- - Charge occurred because the old card expired.
- - Mastercard says they can help resolve it.
I was charged on my Mastercard credit card for another year's subscription. Because the old card had an expiry date, that's the card I started my first subscription with, I did not bother to contact My Heritage to cancel this latest renewal.
I have been in touch with Mastercard and they feel that they can resolve this issue! Let's see how this goes. In the meantime, I feel that My Heritage should have much better customer service.
Not so many hoops to jump through in order to contact someone! Also, Family Tree Maker is half the price!

On March 14, 2026, MyHeritage charged 121.77 EUR to my account (Invoice #3167****, Account ID: 10190****) without my authorization and without any prior notification.
I purchased a DNA kit which included one month of free access. I did not consent to a subscription renewal, and i didn't even want a subsciption.
It came as a "Gift"
I received no advance warning of this charge.
I cancelled immediately upon discovering it.
I contacted MyHeritage support on March 15, 2026. It is now March 31, 12 business days later, I have received zero response.
As an EU-based customer, I have formally invoked my right of withdrawal under EU Directive 2011/83/EU.
I would rather appreciate MyHeritage responding to Invoice #3167****.

- Perpetually give away your most previous unique data

- - Ethnicity estimate conflicts with my family tree; PCA places Balkan Slavic cluster.
- - Overassigns NW-European categories and omits south/east Europe.
MyHeritage gave me an ethnicity estimate that is structurally inconsistent with both my documented family tree and MyHeritages own PCA tool. Their estimate heavily overassigns NW-European categories, including unsupported Dutch and Danish and inflated Scottish/English, while omitting documented southern and eastern European ancestry.
Their own PCA places me nearest a Balkan Slavic cluster, yet support repeatedly sent canned responses, refused to address the inconsistency directly, and closed the chat.
I also raised the issue publicly and was ignored while newer tweets received replies.they also blocked me on a dm when I contacted them about it. Dont recommend this company.
Preferred solution: Tell me why you flattened my ethnicity estimate and why my pca says something else. Not accurate at all.

More human interaction since DNA is a sensitive matter. Everything must be done on their app.
I returned my DNA sample via DHL and now it is stuck there as myheritage has to pay shipment fees and import taxes. No human to assist me with anything.

I know they have a no-refund rule, but I was hoping for an exception due to my circumstances. They did not respond to two emails a while back now. I would have expected some kind of response, not being totally ignored.
No response to my two emails or to my two voice messages, no live chat option. Their online dropdown list of questions does not address my situation.
I had the same request for two other sites and received immediate responses from both, and both accommodated my request.
The request is unrelated to research, DNA, or my tree. It is an administrative matter.

- - I waited months for a DNA kit.
- - MyHeritage sent a free replacement.

Ok, so I received a response from Maja at MyHeritage that brought tears to my eyes. She explained to me what has happened.
My invalid code was actually the original one that was cancelled some time back by MyHeritage and not the replacement kit, I thought. So the problem was some confusion at the local post office as well. That replacement kit is still somewhere making its rounds to me. The conclusion is that when someone truly tries to correct something and is humble about it, it really does something to the heart.
At the end of the day, MyHeritage wants to solve the problem and help me, the customer; that is all that matters. Many companies out there could not give a hoot. I am truly humbled by what they did. So yes, we also need to be careful as customers not to be self-righteous in our complaints.
A humble approach goes a long way either way. Thank You Maja, Thank You My Heritage and a big Thank You to pissed.consumer.com.
I received that one. When I tried to activate the DNA kit with the provided code, it showed that it does not exist.
I sent emails; in my country, SA, the customer service number does not exist. Please help.
- Cheaper for their dna kits
- Send replacement kits
- Do not acknowledge their customers in any way as valid
Preferred solution: I need a new DNA kit activation code. I have the kit already, just a new code that does not show 'invalid', or that it is 'not in their system'
User's recommendation: Please do proper research before purchasing any items if you from another country. Communications will be very challenging if any problem arises, such as this one.
